Spiritualism 2002
It was 154 years ago that modern spiritualism was born through the manifestation of psychic phenomena around the fox sisters in America. Psychic phenomena of course were recorded thousands of years before modern spiritualism.
All major religions are based on psychic manifestation. The resurrection and healing miracles in Christianity; the burning bush and the ten commandments in Judaism; the Angel Gabriel is mentioned in the Muslim Koran; the oriental people have their Ancestor Worship; and further back hieroglyphics illustrate the belief in a spirit world of the ancient Egyptians. Explorers of the South American forests have contacted tribes of natives that have never met a white man before and they too had their own methods of divination and clairvoyance of communicating with their departed loved ones. The religious paths we take in life, and to this path we are usually directed by our parents and we have little say in the matter, are like long difficult paths up a mountain and when we reach the top what do we see? Many other peaks of other religions pointing to the same sun, all paths leading to the same God. How silly, how futile, how unholy is it to fight and kill because another has taken a different path to a similar peak leading to the one God. The -Higher Ones- in spirit appalled at the condition that their fellow man were arriving in the spirit world, frail because their life lacked spirituality, frightened, bewildered and worried about their loved ones they have just left behind. The -Higher Ones- were also so sad to see the grief of those left on earth, that in their infinite wisdom they decided to reveal a little of gods secret, to draw apart slightly the curtain that divides us from the spirit world. They changed their method of sending the occasional messenger from the spirit world, who tried to teach us that we are spiritual beings here to experience life, and learn it's lessons for the progression of our soul. The messengers or -God Men- as they a
re referred to in one of Arthur Findlay's books came to lead us along a spiritual path, unfortunately the messenger was worshipped and the message of love forgotten. The -Higher Ones- decided there was a need of an outpouring of spiritual knowledge and that is where our mediums come in, not one messenger but hundreds and thousands bringing to us the great revelation that we are spirit, part of God the father, and death is but a part of our eternal journey. The choice of mediums is not an easy task. Many are called, few are chosen. The medium must not expect to receive a free passage, free from all troubles that beset us during our lifetime. For how could they teach others with compassion if they had not experienced pain and suffering themselves? Mediums are chosen for their strength to fight back and in spite of their difficulties are able to give comfort to the bereaved by spreading the knowledge of and proof of survival.
The knowledge of survival can change a person's life from despair to hope. May I illustrate this by telling you of Alice's dear Aunt Maud. Her only beloved son died of a tumour on the brain; he was only 19 years old. She was of course devastated. It was a loss she could never adjust to.
Many years later when Alice's Aunt Maud passed away and joined her son in spirit her sister was clearing her house when underneath her mattress she discovered the son's suit laid out so neatly, so lovingly, All those years her aunt had nursed a broken heart. How Alice wished she could have told her of the truth of the spirit world and how one day she would rejoin her son.
My friends we have the knowledge of survival, a knowledge that would make our world a much better and happier place. We must teach the world that we are spiritual beings on the earth to learn from our trials and tribulations for our spiritual progression.
Together we can make our planet Heaven on Earth with God's help and spirit guidance we will do so.
