The Other Way Around, A Spiritual View - John Norton
So many times over the years my spirit guardian ‘The Spirit of Anthony’, who inspired my wife and I to set up Spiritworks at Westcliff on Sea (which we ran for seven years), patiently illustrated to me one key aspect after another of spiritual awareness. Whilst working with others during those years I came to realise that perhaps the most important of those insights was that each of us needs to arrive at a comfortable acceptance of our true identity…that we are spiritual beings having a human experience, rather than just highly evolved apes who have the occasional spiritual experience.
A lot of the doubts and misconceptions that people harbour about the meaning and purpose of human life can be transformed by the ‘new view’ that becomes possible with attunement to the light energy of eternal consciousness. Much of the doubt that plagues the physical being has its origins in religious traditions that say evolution denies God. What I came to understand working with The Spirit of Anthony is that evolution is the prime purpose when our soul chooses incarnation. So in that sense God (Divine Consciousness) and evolution are all part of the same process.
When I was teaching in workshops it often fascinated and challenged people as I demonstrated the concept that the physical human being is an aspect of the aura, rather than the other way around. We all tend to think of that amazing electro-magnetic energy field as an extension of our physical selves. That is because we think of ourselves as essentially physical beings. But when we explore what is really going on, there is an Alice in Wonderland-like quality to what we discover. The soul works with the earth energies (from which our physicality is constructed) to put into place within the mother, the auric field within which a new human life will emerge. The women reading this article will know that there are times when a conception is made and held in place ready for a new life, and there are other occasions when that does not happen and the potential for new life is washed away with the movement of the body’s cycle. Many times there are particular physical reasons for this to happen but equally there can be the reason that the auric field was not fully established. There can be no human life without those complex fields of energy being in place. When everything is right then the new physical life will develop and when the child is born it is contained within and very much a part of those energies, which will expand and develop permitting and encouraging the child’s growth.
So here we have a picture of first the spiritual being choosing to manifest within the physicality of the mother, then producing the individual who will throughout their human experience be a part of the aura that first brought about their existence. It works quite well to think of the aura as a bridge enabling pure spirit to express through the human being. Quite often when I was working I would see the aura around a person from which I could read information about them. The power of the aura should not be understated; I recall colour workshops where we would get every single person in the room doing auric (usually called psychic) readings based upon the colours people had expressed on a sheet of paper after I had taken them on a specific meditative journey.
There is a popular song that I really like from one of the West End shows, entitled ‘Love Changes Everything’. This song speaks of the magical effect upon us when we allow love into our hearts, and yes it really does change everything because it alters our perception as well as connecting us to different frequencies of energy. It is part of that process of connecting to all things, all of life and to eternal consciousness. None of that would be possible if the physical being were not an aspect of the aura, for through those energies we make the connection as the violet chakra at the crown of our head inspires the glorious silver and gold of the spiritual connection and the pure white light of spirit embraces us in what are often described as angel’s wings.
Our spiritual nature is something to celebrate and express, for that is the one true purpose of human life…to be true unto ourselves and express our soul on earth. This is the contribution we can make to evolution of our soul and of consciousness itself and the reason for our many incarnations. Please love and value yourself and shine your light on others as you seek creative pathways through life…you are far more valuable and important than you realise.
Stay in the light…John Norton
