Psychics, mediums, clairvoyants, empaths, intuitive, etc., all belong to one of the oldest professions in the world, that of the “seer”. A person whose senses enable them to act as a conduit between those on the earth plain and spiritual beings who represent a high intelligence.
Psychics are not professional entertainers as they have been categorized. Unfortunately, this miscategorization has caused a lot of unnecessary confusion between believers and non-believers, both of which have a right to their opinions and practice their beliefs unharassed.
Psychics are trained and/or experienced professional spiritualists who are following their vocation. Psychics work within a subcategory of the holistic wellness sector that caters to the spiritual self of a human being and gets paid for their time.
Psychics, like their clients, come from all walks of life.
Everyone has the right to be skeptical with regard to psychic phenomena because of the limited understanding surrounding them. Psychics need to realise everyone to their opinion and not take things personally, and that dealing with skeptics is all part of the job.
Skeptics need to acknowledge that everyone has the right to exercise their spiritual beliefs without being ridiculed at best, and discriminated against at worst.
As with all professionals, psychics mess up at times. If a psychic takes responsibility and goes about putting things right, they are worth their salt. If they don't, they are not. Those who are not don't last long because the general public is not stupid. Those who remain in the profession for decades do so because the general public is not stupid, they know a genuine psychic when they come across one.
In all walks of life, there will be a small percentage of people who are not proficient at their job and an even smaller percentage of those who are con artists. It is they who spoil the reputation of those who are dedicated are dedicated to their careers.
Skepticism about the profession exists because psychics are able to embrace what is beyond their understanding. By doing so they interact with the intangible, the subjective, the abstract, and that which can’t be seen. This is a process many people understandably find incredulous and chose not to, and that is right for them.
However, it is imperative that a psychic keep a smidgeon of skepticism, for without it they will be whisked away with the fairies, so strong are the energies involved when working with Spirit.
The psychic's job is to retrieve relevant, reliable, insightful knowledge from the higher realms of existence and pass it on in a clear, to-the-point, logical but caring fashion without bias or prejudice, to the client. The type of information that comes through can’t be gained from any other quarter. It can be open to interpretation but this is important since it provides an arena for various perspectives to be played out.
Psychics use intention to connect to those that reside in the higher realms. They receive the knowledge being given through their “seeing” and others' “hearing” or “feeling” and/or remote viewing abilities.
The information can relate to every facet of a client's life. It includes the spiritual and practical aspects of their career, relationships, health, abundance, and spiritual well-being as well as receiving spiritual messages of comfort and guidance from their guides, angels, and loved ones who reside in Spirit.
A psychic reading can provide the client with a different perspective, greater insight, and a truer understanding of their circumstances. This can help with the client's decision-making process and contribute toward them setting up and achieving their life goals.
People from all walks of life consult psychics for three reasons:
Their spiritual self is active, making them inquisitive and wanting to know more.
2. They have come to a time in their lives when they need the kind of support and guidance they have failed to find from more orthodox quarters.
3. They wish to have their suspicions or understandings confirmed or dismissed.
It is up to the client to process the information after they receive it and this can take minutes, hours, days, and in some cases years before the results become apparent.
People who consult with psychics are self-aware, sensitive beings who are open-minded and intelligent enough to know that, as Shakespeare so aptly put it “There are far more things, Horatio, in heaven and earth than are dreamt of”.
They are not the weak-minded, wayward, impressionable, misguided, and delusional individuals as some like to think of them.
Usually, such people have never been to a psychic or, as is with all professions in the world. If they have, then unfortunately, they chose an inexperienced psychic, one who touched on the truth of the matter, (something that can be a shock when it is not expected), or the psychic didn’t meet the client's expectations.
It is important though to acknowledge the correlation between those clients who think the sole purpose of a psychic is to predict, the complexities and controversies regarding prediction, and why many psychics no longer predict.
Predictions are not educated guesses, and most psychics experience them. They are visions or a deep knowing of snippets of information that have come through the psychic senses in a flash. They emanate from a past, present, future, or parallel life.
A psychic who works with past, present, and future life issues can identify the lifetime the information belongs to and place the jigsaw piece in the right jigsaw. It is presently impossible for any psychic to know with any certainty whether that jigsaw piece belongs to the present life jigsaw of a client or a present life that exists in a parallel universe. If it is a present nonparallel life the prediction will come to pass. If it is from a past, future, or parallel present life, it won’t.
Unfortunately, an unfulfilled prediction can and does ruin people’s lives, as can the self-fulfilling prophecy phenomena. This is why it’s best for psychics to bring through the information in a non-predictive manner.
But it doesn’t end there. Non-predictive information that is given can be interpreted by a client as a prediction. This is because we all have a tendency to hear what we want to hear and read what we want to read and there is absolutely nothing a psychic can do about that.
The client can avoid this from happening by closing their heart chakra and grounding during the reading.
Today, the role of the psychic is to fulfill the needs of those who have been failed by orthodoxy in all its forms and the detrimental effect that has on their spiritual self and their lives
So what are these needs?
They are needs that develop when the spiritual self is not serviced. The spiritual self is the core of who a person is, and it needs as much recognition. Furthermore, a healthy spiritual self enables a healthy mind body, and soul.
Different people have different spiritual needs, and different psychics have different areas of expertise to meet them.
It is as simple as that.
For this reason, many people consider psychics, the new wellness therapists, an essential piece of kit in their arsenal of healthy coping mechanisms. This is because clients know the information they receive from those in Spirit is bona fide because of the language used and details given by the psychic during the reading. This is despite the fact the psychic doesn’t ask the client questions and has never met the client before, least of their departed loved ones who reside in Spirit.
However, because of the general ignorance surrounding the work of the professional spiritualist, discrimination is levied against psychics and their clients. This has resulted in a hidden majority being created where very few people admit to consulting with a psychic, and as things stand at present, rightly so.
Even in this day and age, there is no doubt that to do so would damage people's reputations and harm their careers on top of being ridiculed by friends and family for doing so.
Tolerance and compassion are what is needed on both sides to diffuse the long-standing misunderstandings that exist between psychics, nonbelievers, believers, and skeptics. I hope this article has gone some way toward enabling that to happen.
